The discussion focused on strengthening dental caries prevention programs for children through promotive and preventive approaches involving families and communities. This collaboration is expected to help raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining oral and dental health from an early age.

The meeting was also attended by the leadership of FKG USU, namely the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Gema Nazri Yanti, M.Kes.; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, Dr. drg. One of the innovations discussed was the use of small shrimp (udang rebon) as an ingredient in crackers, which has the potential to support family nutritional needs while creating opportunities for home-based businesses among TP PKK cadres and business owners. This initiative is expected to integrate oral and dental health education with family economic empowerment through the utilization of local food resources.

Through this meeting, FKG USU, the Deli Serdang Regency Government, and the Deli Serdang Regency TP PKK discussed the technical steps for implementing a collaborative program focused on improving children's oral and dental health and empowering communities. This synergy is expected to serve as a tangible step toward building healthy, independent, and empowered families.

This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through promotive and preventive efforts to maintain oral and dental health; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through the development of home-based business opportunities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions, local government, and TP PKK.
