FKG USU held an important public lecture titled “Dental Education in the Era of Health Law 17/2023 and Government Regulation 28/2024,” featuring Dr. Beni Satria, M.Kes., S.H., M.H., CPMed., CPArb., CPCLE, CMC—a seasoned legal practitioner and expert in national health policy.

The event, held in the Nazir Alwi Room, FKG USU, aimed to provide students, lecturers, and health professionals with an in-depth understanding of the latest regulatory dynamics that directly impact dental education and practice in Indonesia.

 

In his presentation, Dr. Beni Satria explained the impact of implementing Health Law Number 17 of 2023 and Government Regulation Number 28 of 2024, particularly on dental education standards, institutional governance, and the role of the dental profession in this new health policy era.

Understanding legal aspects is crucial for dental education institutions. By knowing the direction of policy, we can prepare and adapt strategically,” said Dr. Beni during his presentation. 

 

The event was moderated by drg. Ranu Putra Armidin, MKM, guided the discussion professionally and communicatively. Participants actively shared views, questions, and case studies regarding the challenges of implementing new policies in the context of dental education and health services.

The lively discussion broadened participants’ insights into how synergy between academics and practitioners can be built to address regulatory changes.

In her remarks, Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA., Subsp.PKOA(K) emphasized the importance of organizing scientific forums that discuss national policy changes, especially those directly related to dental education. “We are committed to continuing to present educational programs that not only enrich academic insight but also prepare students and lecturers to face new regulatory realities adaptively and professionally,” said Dr. Essie.

 

This public lecture is one of FKG USU’s concrete efforts to ensure that the academic community is prepared to face regulatory changes with adequate understanding. It is hoped that activities like this will continue regularly as a form of FKG USU’s commitment to maintaining the quality and relevance of education amidst the dynamics of national health policy.
