Specialist Dental Education Program

The Specialist Program in Prosthodontics at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is a program that studies methods of rehabilitation and maintenance of oral cavity function, tooth function, and tooth layout, along with oral and maxillofacial soft tissues. This program is responsible for teaching dental science specialists who study problems related to the rehabilitation of oral function by replacing missing or damaged teeth and or dental structures and oral tissues with artificial devices.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

My name is Drg. Mourent, Sp.Pros, an alumnus of the Specialist Program in Prosthodontics (PPDGS Prosto) at Universitas Sumatera Utara, class of 2012. During my time in the program, I gained extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in the laboratory field.

As residents, we were involved in clinical procedures and directly engaged in laboratory processes. This allowed us to fully understand how dental prosthetics are made from start to finish.

Such experience has been incredibly beneficial in my professional career. When dealing with patients, especially those requiring dentures, we are better equipped to identify and resolve issues because we already understand the process behind the making of dental prosthetics. This foundational knowledge allows us to find solutions effectively when problems arise.

That is what I would like to share. I sincerely thank all the lecturers and staff at PPDGS Prosto USU.
