FKGUSU, 16/9 - The 2023 Student Creativity Week (PKM) Workshop at the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) became an extraordinary event with the presence of prominent speakers and lecturers accompanying the teams that passed the PKM in 2023.

The event, held on September 16, 2023, was attended by FKG USU students who achieved PKM this year and had the opportunity to learn from two main speakers, namely drg. Nursyamsi, M.Kes from Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar and Aswin Baharuddin, S.I.P., MA. This workshop aims to support students in developing their creativity, research, and innovation.

The workshop was opened with a warm welcome from the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K), who expressed her appreciation to the students who had made achievements in PKM in 2023. She also emphasized the importance of sharing knowledge and experience in improving the quality of education and research.

The first speaker, drg. Nursyamsi, M. Kes, an expert in dentistry from Universitas Hasanuddin, shared insights on the importance of research in dentistry and how students can develop relevant and impactful research projects. He also illustrated recent research results that can inspire students.

Furthermore, Aswin Baharuddin, S.I.P., MA, a social science professional, provided insights on the social aspects of research projects. He gave examples of how research can influence society and address social challenges.

In addition to the main speakers, the workshop also involved lecturers who assisted the PKM team in 2023. They shared their experiences in helping students with research projects and provided practical guidance on successful PKM implementation.

The workshop ended with a Q&A session and active discussion, during which students could ask questions of the presenters and their accompanying lecturers. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their horizons on research, innovation, and collaborative learning.

The PKM 2023 workshop at FKG USU marks the faculty's commitment to supporting student's academic achievements and inspiring them to continue innovating. The experience gained in this workshop is hoped to help FKG USU students face the challenges of research and PKM competitions in the future.
