The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a webinar themed "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry" on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. The webinar featured three speakers from various educational institutions: Prof. Dr. Nor Adinar Binti Baharuddin (University of Malaya), and Dr. drg. Eha Renwi Astuti, M.Kes., Sp.RKG(K) (Universitas Airlangga), and Baihaqi Siregar, S.Si., MT (Universitas Sumatera Utara). FKG USU also invited the Chair of LIPIHKI, Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., to deliver opening remarks and officially inaugurate the event.
Prof. Dr. Nor Adinar presented material titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI),” moderated by Drg. Rini Octavia Nasution, Sp.Perio(K). Meanwhile, Dr. drg. Eha Renwi Astuti, M.Kes., Sp.RKG(K), discussed the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry and The Future of AI” with moderator Drg. Cek Dara Manja, Sp.RKG(K). Finally, Baihaqi Siregar, S.Si., MT delivered a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence: Trends, Technology, and Opportunities in Dentistry” with moderator Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari, Sp.Perio(K).
The webinar was attended by FKG USU staff, students, and several invited collaborators, including representatives from FKG Universitas Jember, FKG Universitas Syiah Kuala, FKG Universitas Brawijaya, the Medan City Health Office, and several community health centers (puskesmas) in Medan.
