Under the bright skies of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) campus, hundreds of students and academic community members gathered in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and warmth. The FKG USU 2025 Bazaar transformed into a dynamic space where ideas, creativity, social interaction, and entrepreneurial spirit converged for three consecutive days.
The Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg, officially opened the event. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA., Subsp.PKOA(K) emphasized that the bazaar was not merely a marketplace, but a valuable learning platform for students. “This bazaar is a social laboratory. Here, students learn to communicate, strategize, and sharpen business skills that will be useful in the real world,” said Dr. Essie in her opening remarks, which were met with enthusiasm.
Led by drg. Tanti Deriaty, MDSc., Sp.Ort., Subsp.DDTK(K), as the event chairperson, said that this year’s bazaar featured various exciting products from student booths and collaborative partners, ranging from regional culinary delights and handmade crafts to innovations in dental health. Alums and local MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprise) actors were also present, enlivening the event by sharing experiences and collaboration opportunities.
“We aim to provide students with as much space as possible to showcase their best potential — in culinary arts, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship,” said drg. Tanti. “Through talk shows and workshops, students also gained direct insights from practitioners already active in the business world.” The excitement of the bazaar extended beyond the booths. Various entertainment performances, fun competitions, and door prizes added to the vibrant atmosphere, creating a warm and togetherness environment. The laughter, lively conversations, and enthusiastic cheers from competition participants turned the bazaar into more than just an economic event — a moment of connection and campus-wide solidarity.
Through this bazaar, FKG USU once again demonstrated its role as an institution committed to shaping students who are not only excellent academically but also adaptive, creative, and ready to compete beyond campus.
With full support from various parties, the FKG USU 2025 Bazaar is expected to continue evolving into an annual agenda with lasting impact — a symbol of innovation, collaboration, and unity within the academic environment.
