Medan, 5 November 2022 – The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., alongside the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Essie Octiara, drg., Sp.KGA, officially flagged off the Fun Walk contingent as part of the 61st Dies Natalis celebration of FKG USU. The event, held on Saturday, 5 November 2022, at the FKG USU parking lot, attracted more than 600 participants, including alumni, faculty members, and students.
Dr. Muryanto Amin didn’t just flag off the contingent but also actively participated in the Fun Walk alongside Dr. Essie Octiara. The event started at 7:00 AM, with the contingent taking off from the Faculty of Dentistry. The route covered various parts of the USU campus and concluded back at FKG USU.
The Fun Walk culminated a series of activities celebrating the 61st Dies Natalis, which began on 3 November 2022. Previous activities included competitions, an opening ceremony, a keynote lecture, panel discussions, and a bazaar.
To ensure the safety of all participants, the organizing committee provided medical personnel and vehicles on standby for emergencies. Water and snacks were also available along the route to refresh participants throughout the walk.
Upon completing the route and reaching the finish line, participants were treated to entertainment, including performances by a local Medan band and FKG USU students.
The event concluded with a door prize giveaway featuring attractive prizes donated by sponsors, including partners and parents of FKG USU students. The grand prize was distributed in the afternoon, marking the official closing of the 61st Dies Natalis celebrations.
