The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) celebrated its 62nd Anniversary with great joy and pride. In commemoration of this historic moment, FKG USU honored individuals and departments that have excelled and contributed to the success of the faculty. This was expressed by the Dean of FKG USU Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K), Vice Dean I of FKG USU Dr. drg. Olivia Avriyanti Hanafiah Sp.B.M.M., Subsp. C.O.M. (K), Vice Dean II drg. Rini Octavia Nasution M.Kes., Sp.Perio, Subsp.RPID (K) and Vice Dean III Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari S.Psi, Sp.Perio, Subsp.PP(K) on November 12, 2023, in the parking lot of FKG USU.
The award is given to students who have shown outstanding academic and non-academic achievements and involves other elements that contribute to advancing the USU FKG. Here are some categories of award recipients:
1. DEPARTMENT WITH THE MOST RESEARCH GRANTS IN 2023 Achieved by the Department of Orthodontics
2. DEPARTMENT WITH THE MOST GRANTS IN 2023 Department of Pediatric Dentistry
3. PROGRAM STUDY OF THE MOST OUTBOUND AND INBOUND STUDENTS in 2023 Specialist Program in Periodontics
4. TOP SCOPUS PUBLICATION in 2023 Dr.drg. Pitu Wulandari S.Psi, Sp.Perio (K)
5. TOP SCOPUS PUBLICATION OF 2023 Prof. Trimurni Abidin, Sp.KG (K), M.Kes
6. H HIGHEST INDEX SCOPUS Dr.drg. Pitu Wulandari S.Psi, Sp.Perio (K)
There were 32 awards, including 6 Department or Study Program categories ranging from research, service, outbound-inbound, overseas cooperation, implementation of the most WCU Top Scientist programs, and the most favorite departments. In addition, awards were given to Lecturers and Educators, with no less than 12 categories in this award. Not only that, awards were also given to outstanding students at the international level and PKM.
Alumni Tendik (Educators) and other supporting personnel were also not separated from the award this time, and a special award was given to Doctor Syaidina Hamza Dalimunte, who was informative about the development of the USU FKG. In addition, there are several Departmental and Non-Departmental educators and support personnel such as Security and Cleaning Officers.
Dean of the USU Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA (K) expressed her appreciation to all awardees and stated, “The 62nd Anniversary of FKG USU is a valuable momentum to celebrate the success and dedication of all parties involved in the long journey of this faculty. This award is a form of our gratitude for the extraordinary contributions that have been made. Hopefully, it can inspire us to continue working to advance FKG USU.”
