The day’s activities were conducted in an orderly and enthusiastic atmosphere. The event began with a report on the implementation of PKKMB delivered by USU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. The program continued with welcoming remarks from the Chairperson of the USU Student Executive Board (BEM USU) and the Chairperson of the USU Student Representative Council (DPM USU), highlighting the spirit of togetherness, leadership, and student engagement in campus life.

The new students then received guidance and a welcoming address from the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. Addressing thousands of new students, the Rector encouraged them to strive for achievements throughout their studies at USU by making the most of the university’s facilities and opportunities to explore and develop their potential.
The implementation of PKKMB USU 2026 also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening students’ readiness to pursue higher education. The values of integrity, equality, inclusivity, leadership, and community contribution promoted throughout the program also align with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

The event concluded with a symbolic handover in which the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara formally entrusted the new students to the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. drg. Gema Nazri Yanti, M.Kes., through the presentation of the Faculty Flag. The ceremony symbolized the official transfer of the new students, who would subsequently continue the PKKMB program at their respective faculties.
