Medan, 24/10 - The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, enthusiastically welcomed the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) delegation. The audition agenda has been formed, namely explaining the 62nd FKG USU Anniversary event, which falls on November 12, 2023. This anniversary event is even more special because it will be enlivened by “Jaw Joint Gymnastics,” which is planned to be attended by around 2,000 participants, hoping to break the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) record.
Bobby Nasution expressed his appreciation and support for FKG USU for initiating this activity. The Jaw Joint Gymnastics that will be part of the anniversary celebration is not only a testament to excellence and creativity, but will also positively impact the oral health of the community.
“Medan City Government will support every activity carried out in Medan City. Please describe what the Medan City Government can help with. God willing, I will attend it,” said Bobby Nasution when receiving a visit from the USU Faculty of Dentistry at City Hall on Tuesday (24/10).
In the hearing activity, also present in the USU FKG group was Deputy Dean 3, Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari S.Psi, Sp.Perio, Subsp.PP (K), who also expressed the faculty's enthusiasm and support for this historic celebration. Chairperson of the 62nd FKG USU Anniversary committee, drg. Siti Wahyuni M.DSc, explained the three major activities at this anniversary, namely:
1. Breaking the MURI record.
2. Free Dental Treatment and Blood Donation.
3. Student and UMKM Entrepreneurship Bazaar in Medan City.
“We hope that the Mayor and Mrs. Kahiyang Ayu can attend later to open and inaugurate the event. We also ask for support from the Mayor regarding the potential of dental tourism owned by the USU Dental and Oral Hospital,” he hoped.
In addition to staying in touch, the arrival of the group led by Vice Dean 3 of the USU Faculty of Dentistry and the chairman of the 62nd Anniversary committee of the USU Faculty of Dentistry, also wanted to invite the number one person in the Medan City Government to attend and open the Jaw Joint Gymnastics which will be held in the USU Faculty of Dentistry yard.
This anniversary celebration is not only about celebrating the age of FKG USU, which has reached 62 years, but also an opportunity for this faculty to continue to innovate and contribute more in dentistry. The Jaw Joint Gymnastics that will break the MURI record proves that FKG USU always strives to provide the best and be an example in its field.
Bobby Nasution concluded that the 62nd Anniversary of USU's Faculty of Dentistry is a perfect example of how academics, government, and the community can collaborate to raise awareness of the importance of oral health. Hopefully, this celebration will create positive momentum to advance the field of dental health in Medan and its surroundings.
