The 63rd Anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), was held with great enthusiasm and vibrancy. This creatively and inclusively packaged series of events fostered a joyful atmosphere and inspired the entire FKG USU community and surrounding society.
The festivities began with a Funwalk, a cheerful walk that brought together students, lecturers, staff, alums, and partners. With a relaxed route and lively ambiance, the Funwalk symbolized the spirit of health, unity, and the active lifestyle FKG USU strives to promote within its academic community.
Following the Funwalk, participants were welcomed by a lively bazaar featuring more than 35 tenants from various groups, including:
Students and all 10 departments within FKG USU
Lecturers and staff
Local MSMEs collaborating with FKG USU
External partners from various sectors
The products offered ranged from food and beverages to handicrafts, health services, and educational booths. The bazaar served as a venue for promotion and commerce and a tangible show of FKG USU’s support for creative economy development and local entrepreneurship.
The celebration reached its peak with stunning artistic performances, showcasing talents from both students and lecturers in various acts such as:
Solo vocals
Traditional dances
“FKG Got Talent,” highlighting extraordinary talents within the FKG USU community
These performances provided entertainment and a platform for artistic and cultural expression, strengthening solidarity and intergenerational bonds across the faculty.
As part of its anniversary spirit, FKG USU organized free dental services at the USU Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM USU), underscoring its commitment to community service. Dozens of residents received professional dental care, highlighting FKG USU’s contribution to improving public health.
The excitement culminated in a warm Closing Ceremony, featuring an Awarding Session and a special moment as the Dean of FKG USU and the Chair of the FKG USU Alumni Association (IKA FKG USU) officially sent off a social mission team to Desa Serugun, Sibolangit.
The team, consisting of lecturers and alumni from IKA FKG USU, embarked on a service mission as a concrete expression of FKG USU’s values of empathy, collaboration, and contribution to communities beyond campus.
The 63rd Dies Natalis celebration was more than a festivity—it was a reflection on FKG USU’s long journey marked by dedication and achievements. The spirit of unity, innovation, and service radiating from every activity served as a strong foundation for FKG USU to continue advancing into the future.
Happy 63rd Anniversary, FKG USU! Together, let’s realize transformation toward excellence. Long live FKG USU!
