Medan, 24/10 - The Acting Governor of North Sumatra, Major General TNI (Ret.) Dr. Hassanudin, S.IP., MM, warmly welcomed the presence of representatives of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) in the context of an audience related to the prestigious 9th Regional Dental Meeting and Exhibition in conjunction with the International Dental Conference of Sumatera Utara 2023 (RDM&E - ICDSU 2023). The audience took place at the official residence of the Acting Governor of North Sumatra, located at Jalan Sudirman Number 41, Medan, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
On this precious occasion, the Acting Governor of North Sumatra expressed his high appreciation for FKG USU's contribution to advancing dental health in the North Sumatra region. He thanked the important role played by academics, medical personnel, and students in dentistry in creating optimal oral health in the people of North Sumatra.
Governor Hassanudin also thanked the USU FKG delegation for visiting his residence and listened to the explanation from the USU FKG group regarding the development of USU and the USU Dental and Oral Hospital.
Hassanudin hopes the 9th Regional Dental Meeting and Exhibition will run smoothly and successfully in conjunction with the International Dental Conference of North Sumatra 2023 (9th RDM&E - ICDSU 2023). “I hope I will attend the 9th RDM&E - ICDSU 2023 on the 9th. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to come here,” said Hassanudin.
The Dean of FKG USU, Dr. Drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K) was present at the hearing, bringing with her the high spirit of her faculty. Dr. Essie Octiara also thanked the Acting Governor for the support in organizing the prestigious ICDSU 2023 and Regional Dental Meeting and Exhibition activities.
The Chairperson of the 9th RDM&E - ICDSU 2023, drg. Ami Angela Harahap Sp.KGA, Subsp-AIBK(K)., M.Sc also attended the meeting, along with the dean and student representatives from FKG USU. Their presence in this audience is a positive step in strengthening the team work between academics, government, and dental health practitioners to improve the quality of dental health services in North Sumatra.
In addition to the Acting Governor and representatives of the USU Faculty of Dentistry, the event was also attended by the Governor's Expert Staff for Education, Health, Infrastructure, and Community Empowerment, Suherman, and the head of the North Sumatra Health Office, Alwi Mujahit. In addition, the Director of RS Haji Medan, Rehulina Ginting, also participated in this meeting, emphasizing the commitment of the health sector in supporting efforts to improve the quality of dental health services in this region.
This audience is a very positive step in strengthening collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the world of health to improve the dental health of the people of North Sumatra. A strong spirit and commitment to improving dental health services became an essential point in this meeting. It is hoped that this good cooperation will continue to maintain the oral and dental health of the population of North Sumatra.
