Medan, August 21, 2026 — The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), held the Oath-Taking and Inauguration Ceremony for 16 Specialist Dentists for the Fourth Period of the 2025/2026 Academic Year at the Nazir Alwi Room, FKG USU.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the Dean of FKG USU, Vice Deans, professors, heads of study programs, heads of departments, faculty members, family members, and guests.

A total of 16 specialist dentists were inaugurated from three Specialist Dental Education Programs (PPDGS), comprising nine graduates from Periodontics, six from Conservative Dentistry, and one from Prosthodontics. The ceremony included the administration of the professional oath, the conferral of specialist titles, the presentation of the oath text and graduation certificates, and remarks by the Dean of FKG USU.

In recognition of academic achievements and outstanding performance, FKG USU also presented awards to drg. Wydiavei, Sp.Perio, as the recipient of the highest GPA in Periodontics; drg. Edward Gozali, Sp.Perio, as an outstanding specialist dentist in Periodontics; drg. Puteri Ridha Ramadhani, Sp.KG, as the recipient of the highest GPA in Conservative Dentistry; drg. Nur'Aini Badriah, Sp.KG, as an outstanding specialist dentist in Conservative Dentistry; and drg. Ludwika Patricia Razalie, Sp.Pros., as an outstanding specialist dentist in Prosthodontics.

The event also featured the symbolic presentation of contributions from the newly inaugurated specialist dentists to FKG USU, the presentation of commemorative gifts from alumni to the PPDGS programs, and the handover of specialist dentists to their respective professional organizations as part of their professional journey after completing their specialist education.

The event also contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the provision of high-quality and sustainable specialist dental education, as well as SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by strengthening the competencies of healthcare professionals who are expected to contribute to improving the quality of dental and oral healthcare services for the community.
