The event opened with remarks from the Secretary of Dit. IPBKST USU, Prof. Dr. Apri Heri Iswanto, S.Hut., M.Si., who emphasized the importance of synergy in accelerating innovation and research commercialization. This was followed by remarks from the Vice Dean I of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Ika Andryas, M.Sc., who reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to supporting lecturers in producing innovative work that benefits society.

The session featured two keynote speakers. Imam Bagus Sumantri, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt., shared strategies for developing downstream research grant proposals to transform research findings into industrial products. Meanwhile, Dr. Ir. Rahmi Meilina Sari, S.T., M.M.(T)., discussed the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education to strengthen USU’s position in the THE Impact Rankings.

The activity concluded with an interactive discussion on research grant opportunities and research downstreaming, encouraging greater collaboration and innovation among the FKG USU academic community.

Through this socialization activity, FKG USU actively supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through the downstreaming of dental and oral health research that can directly contribute to improving quality of life, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthened collaboration among Dit. IPBKST, FKG USU, government institutions/ministries, and the industrial sector.
