After a series of dynamic and collaboration-driven activities, the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) officially concluded the 19th National Working Meeting (RAKERNAS XIX) of the Indonesian Dental Student Senate Association (PSMKGI) 2025.

This multi-day event showcased the seriousness and commitment of dental students from across Indonesia in strengthening organizational capacity and formulating strategic work programs for the coming year. From plenary sessions and inter-commission discussions to cultural activities, every agenda item was carried out smoothly with active participation.

The closing ceremony began with a summary of the working meeting outcomes presented by the Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General of PSMKGI. This was followed by the reading of the official decree outlining the results of RAKERNAS XIX — a concrete output of the democratic process that unfolded throughout the forum.

In her closing remarks, the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA., Subsp.PKOA(K), expressed deep appreciation to the organizing committee, all participants, and the PSMKGI central board for their dedication and hard work throughout the event.

“This RAKERNAS has proven that dental students are agents of change, ready to face future challenges. May the spirit of solidarity and togetherness fostered here continue to grow and positively impact our profession and society,” she said.

As the peak of camaraderie, FKG USU hosted a Gala Dinner in a warm, festive, and colorful atmosphere. The evening opened with a mass tor-tor dance, a traditional North Sumatran performance in which all participants — including the Dean — participated, symbolizing the fusion of culture and national unity.

Creative performances from each PSMKGI commission, interactive games, and prize giveaways added a sense of closeness among delegates. Laughter, applause, and farewell embraces marked the end of a Rakernas that produced key decisions and forged deep emotional bonds among dental students from Sabang to Merauke.

With the conclusion of RAKERNAS XIX, delegates return to their respective institutions carrying a renewed spirit, fresh ideas, and a strong commitment to contribute to the advancement of dental education in Indonesia.

As the host, FKG USU is honored to have been part of this significant historical moment. This closing marks not an end, but a beginning — the start of a greater movement for dental students to stay united, take action, and create real impact.
