The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) held a Pioneer Research and Community Service mentoring activity for lecturers. This activity was led by Vice Dean III FKG USU Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari S.Psi., Sp.Perio, Subsp.MP (K). and accompanied directly by the Dean of FKG USU Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, SP.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K), to encourage lecturers to be more productive in carrying out research and increasing their contribution to society through community service programs.
This assistance is part of FKG USU's efforts to strengthen lecturers' roles in innovative research relevant to the community's needs and community service that has a real impact in the field of oral health. Vice Dean III, in his speech, said that this activity is expected to encourage lecturers to produce quality research and collaborate with the community in solving health problems around them.
The Dean of FKG USU added that the faculty will continue supporting lecturers in improving research and community service quality. “We hope that this activity will be the first step in fostering a spirit of innovation and service among USU's ECG lecturers so that it can bring great benefits to the wider community,” said the Dean.
This mentoring activity also includes discussions and technical guidance on submitting a good research proposal, strategies for implementing community service programs, and tips for obtaining research funding at the national and international levels.
With this program, FKG USU is committed to continuing to encourage its lecturers to play an increasingly active role in producing innovations in the health sector and participating in the development of public health through quality community service programs.
