The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) held another International Summer Course 2024, which began with the implementation of the Online Course for two days, namely on September 12 and 13, 2024. This activity is part of the main event series of the FKG USU 2024 International Summer Course, which will take place from September 18 to 25, 2024.
This Online Course session had several well-known speakers from various international institutions. On the first day, the Guest Lecture was given by Prof. Guang Hong, M.D., D.D.S., Ph.D, from Tohoku University, Japan, who delivered material related to technological innovation in dentistry. Meanwhile, Dr. Nik Madihah Nik Ajis from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia also shared insights on the latest developments in dental health care.
On the second day of the online course, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattapon Rotpenpain from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, discussed current research topics in dentistry. Dr. Felix Zulhendri, an Indonesian practitioner, rounded off the session with a much-anticipated presentation on dental practice in Indonesia.
Participants from Indonesia and representatives from various countries, such as Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Sudan, and China, attended this activity. The presence of participants from various countries adds to the international value of this event while strengthening global cooperation in dental education.
International Summer Course 2024 FKG USU, through this Online Course, aims to enrich the participants' knowledge and expand the academic network with various experts from abroad. The participants can interact directly with the speakers, adding insight and expertise in global dentistry.
This activity is expected to improve the standard of dental education at USU and strengthen FKG USU's position as one of the leading institutions in Southeast Asia dentistry.
