The Specialist Dentist Education Program (PPDGS) in Prosthodontics and Conservative Dentistry held the oath-taking and inauguration of four specialist dentists each on Thursday, September 1, 2022. The ceremony occurred in the Nazir Alwi Hall at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The event was attended by the faculty leadership, program heads, professors, teaching staff, and invitees, including representatives from the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI) Medan, partner institutions, the Head of Putri Hijau Hospital, the Director of USU’s Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM USU), the Health Office, and the families of the newly inaugurated specialists.
In her speech, drg. Ricca Chairunnisa, Sp.Pros(K), the Head of PPDGS Prosthodontics, stated, “PPDGS Prosthodontics is committed to producing specialists who excel academically, clinically, and in laboratory work, as well as being globally competitive in line with our vision and mission.”

All four graduates of the Conservative Dentistry program received the distinction of Cum Laude.
The Head of PPDGS Conservative Dentistry, drg. Wandania Fahanny, MDSc., Sp.KG(K), remarked, “The education process during the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges. Implementing Blended Learning—combining online and offline methods—was the chosen approach to ensure the continuity of teaching and learning activities. Alhamdulillah, today, the ninth cohort of PPDGS Conservative Dentistry has completed their education on time within six semesters.”
