The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) recently hosted an expert lecture featuring Muhammad Shidiq Pamungkas, S.Kom, CRMO, ISMS-LI, Head of SW and Public Relations of PT Jasa Raharja North Sumatra Province, as the main speaker. The lecture, entitled "Interoperability in Digital Transformation: Building Bridges Between Systems, “was met with enthusiastic engagement by the FKG USU students who attended.
The Acting Head of PSPPDG FKG USU, drg Mutia Amalia Nasution, M.Biomed.Sp.Ort.Subsp.DDPK(K) opened the event. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of students' understanding of the development of digital technology, especially in dentistry, which is increasingly connected to modern information systems.
In his presentation, Muhammad Shidiq Pamungkas explained that interoperability is crucial in digital transformation, especially in the public service and health sectors. He explained that integrating various technology systems can improve service efficiency, accuracy, and transparency and speed up the information delivery process.
“Digital transformation is not just about implementing technology, but also building effective communication between various systems to create integrated services,” Shidiq explained. According to him, with proper interoperability, the health sector can utilize technology to speed up diagnosis, treatment, and patient services.
The FKG USU students who attended seemed very interested in the discussion, especially the application of digital technology in dentistry. Shidiq also emphasized the importance of collaboration between institutions, including universities, hospitals, and other healthcare providers, to create an integrated digital ecosystem.
The event ended with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students could ask more in-depth questions about the challenges and opportunities of implementing interoperability in healthcare. This lecture is expected to open students' insights into the importance of digital technology for the future of healthcare.
