As part of the International Summer Course 2024, participants from various countries participated in a community service program at SMK Gajah Mada Medan. This program aims to educate students about the importance of oral and dental health and increase youth awareness of oral health.
The activities organized on this day were warmly welcomed by the students and teachers at SMK Gajah Mada Medan. The participants from different academic backgrounds and countries shared their knowledge through various interactive sessions, such as demonstrations of proper brushing techniques, the importance of maintaining dental hygiene, and explanations of common oral diseases.
“Oral health is an important aspect in maintaining overall body health. Through this activity, we hope to provide students with a better understanding of the importance of taking care of their teeth and mouth from an early age,” said one of the participants from the Summer Course program.
In addition to providing education, the participants also invited students to participate in question-and-answer sessions and discuss ways to prevent dental diseases, such as caries and gingivitis. The students also had the opportunity to practice proper dental care techniques directly, and they were accompanied by health experts who participated in this activity.
The Principal of SMK Gajah Mada Medan, Dr. Rita Sari, M.Pd., appreciated this service program. “We are very grateful to the International Summer Course 2024 participants for sharing their knowledge with our students. This activity raises awareness about the importance of dental health and provides an opportunity for students to interact with participants from various countries,” she said.
This service is part of the International Summer Course's commitment to making a positive contribution to the local community and building cooperation between nations in the fields of education and health. Participants hope that this program can inspire the younger generation to care more about their own health, especially oral care.
