Today, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) inaugurated a new building to house the Faculty's teaching staff. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several influential figures within the university, including the USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, who led the inauguration procession.
The new building is an essential milestone in developing the education and research infrastructure at the Faculty. In his speech, USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, stated, “This building is not only a place for USU's ECG faculty to develop their knowledge and skills, but also a means to provide the best educational services to students and the surrounding community.” He continued, “which states that the concentration of development at USU includes slum areas that can damage the image of USU.”
Dean of USU's Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA. Subsp.PKOA(K) also gave a passionate speech. “This new building is a tangible proof of the commitment of FKG USU in improving the quality of dental education and contributing positively to public health,” she said.
A number of academic figures and university officials attended the inauguration ceremony, including Vice Rector II Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP, Vice Rector III Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Apt, and Vice-Rector V Prof. Dr. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc. They also enlivened the event by congratulating and hoping for a more glorious future for FKG USU.
In addition to university officials, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Head of Department and Head of Dentistry Specialist Programs as well as other teaching staff from FKG USU. This moment became an opportunity for the entire academic community of FKG USU to celebrate this outstanding achievement together.
With the inauguration of this new building, FKG USU is increasingly ready for its mission to produce a generation of qualified dentists who can make a positive contribution to the health of the Indonesian people. This building will be the center of academic and research activities that will support future dentistry development.
