The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) recorded a brilliant achievement in the series of 62nd Anniversary events by breaking the record for 'Jaw Gymnastics Training.' The event, which took place on Sunday (12/11), successfully brought together 1300 participants: students, lecturers, alumni, staff, and invitees.

This activity was carried out in the parking lot of FKG USU and involved various aspects of the existing community. As a form of seriousness in breaking the Indonesian Record, appointed as Instructors for TMJ Jaw Gymnastics are drg. Ricca Chairunnisa Sp.Pros, Subsp. OGST (K), drg. Putri Welda Utami Ritonga M.DSc, Sp.Pros, Subsp. PMF(K), drg. Veronica Angelia MDSc, Sp.Pros, drg. Ariyani M.DSc, Sp.Pros, Subsp.PKIKG (K) and Chairperson of the 62nd Anniversary Committee of the USU Faculty of Dentistry drg. Siti Wahyuni M.DSc.

The Dean of FKG USU, Dr. Drg. Essie Octaria, Sp. KGA, expressed her pride in the event's success. “This Jaw Gymnastics Training is not just an entertainment activity but also a tangible manifestation of the spirit of togetherness and dedication of FKG USU in creating historical moments in this year's 62nd Anniversary celebration,” said Dr. Essie.

The Jaw Gymnastics Training not only provides exciting and entertaining action, but also emphasizes the health aspects of the jaw and mouth. Guided by jaw gymnastics experts, participants were invited to perform movements to maintain jaw and dental health.

This event also received extraordinary appreciation from the Museum of Indonesian Records (MURI) for setting a record as the most significant 'Jaw Gymnastics Training' ever conducted in Indonesia. This achievement recorded its name in MURI history. It emphasized the position of FKG USU as an educational institution that not only focuses on academics, but also cares about the health and fitness of its students.

“We hope that activities like this can positively impact the participants and the wider community in maintaining their jaw and dental health,” added Dr. Essie.

The 62nd Anniversary of FKG USU also involved various other activities, such as bazaars, social services, competitions, blood donations, and others, as a form of FKG USU's contribution to improving the health of the surrounding community. With this brilliant achievement, FKG USU has further strengthened itself as an educational institution committed to making a positive contribution to the world of health.
