The Specialist Program in Orthodontists of the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a guest lecture in the World Class University Guest Lecture program by presenting Prof. Dr. Zamri bin Radzi, who currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry University Malaya, in Malaysia. Not only Prof. Zamri, Dr. Asma Ashari BDS (Adel), MClinDent (Lon), MOrth RCS (Ed), FRCS (Ed) who also came from Specialist Orthodontist and Clinical Lecturer at the Dental Faculty in University Kebangsaan Malaysia was also present in the guest lecture.
The activity took place in the Nazir Alwi Room, FKG USU, attracting the attention of students and lecturers from the Orthodontia Specialist Dentist Education Program. Prof. Dr. Zamri bin Radzi from the Department of Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics Faculty of Dentistry University Malaya provided in-depth insight into The Appropriate Analysis and Treatment Plan for Aesthetic Results.
He said “I am very happy to be trusted as a guest speaker in this program. Not only does he bring deep academic knowledge, but the history of the relationship between the Universitas Sumatera Utara and the University Malaya.”
Prof. Dr. Zamri bin Radzi delivered the lecture with enthusiasm and interactivity. He discussed the latest orthodontic research, technology, and practical applications for dental students. In addition, he also shared experiences from the University of Malaya and highlighted the importance of cross-country collaboration in advancing the field of dentistry.
Students felt inspired and gained a deeper understanding of the specialty of orthodontics. “This guest lecture opened new insights for us. Prof. Dr. Zamri bin Radzi provides a very valuable and relevant perspective in the development of orthodontics today,” said a student of the orthodontia specialist dental program.
This guest lecture is part of FKG USU's efforts to improve the quality of education and present global thinking in its academic environment. The World Class University Guest Lecture program is expected to be an inspirational learning platform and build a network of collaboration between dental education institutions at the international level.
Thus, this activity not only improves the quality of education at FKG USU but also provides valuable experience for students to engage directly with dental education leaders from abroad.
