The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) once again demonstrated its role as an academically active institution in fostering international collaboration by successfully hosting a Guest Lecture program. This time, FKG USU invited the Assistant. Prof. Dr. Chatcharwin Ungurawasaporn from the Faculty of Dentistry, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, will deliver a guest lecture titled:
“The Art and Science of Smile Design in Aesthetic Dentistry: Unleashing the Power of Digital Technology.”
Held at the Nazir Alwi Room at FKG USU, the event was met with enthusiastic participation from students, lecturers, and dental practitioners. The attendees had the opportunity to explore digital-based smile design—an increasingly relevant subject amid the rapid development of modern dentistry. In his presentation, Asst. Technology allows dentists to create more personalized, precise, and patient-specific smile designs from the diagnostic phase to the final visualization.
“The combination of art and science in smile design, enhanced by digital technology, improves aesthetics and significantly boosts patient confidence,” he explained.
The lecture provided valuable practical insights essential for everyday clinical practice by showcasing various case studies and demonstrating digital smile design applications.
The event was expertly moderated by Drg. Ricca Chairunnisa, Sp.Pros, Subsp. OGST(K), who guided the discussion and enriched the Q&A session with critical insights. The interactive atmosphere reflected the participants’ high interest in the topic presented. Dean of FKG USU, Dr. Drg.
