In welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 1445 H, the Faculty of Dentistry of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM), and Unilever through its famous brand, Pepsodent, united to hold a free dental treatment activity. This activity was titled “Smile Healthy Indonesia Welcomes the Month of Ramadan” and was held today, February 19, 2024, at the Nazir Alwi Room, FKG USU.
This activity is a form of commitment from the organizers to positively contribute to the community, especially regarding oral health. Through this collaboration, they hope to spread awareness of the importance of dental health and a bright smile, especially ahead of the blessed month of Ramadan.
Dr.drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K), Dean of FKG USU, stated, “We are very pleased to be able to organize this activity. Dental health is an integral part of general health, and we believe that a healthy smile can bring happiness to everyone, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan. What's more, this activity is a continuation of the BKGN 2023 activity which was carried out in December.”
This free dental treatment activity includes various services, from dental examinations and tooth extractions to counseling on good dental care. The participants were also given information about the importance of maintaining oral health during fasting.
Unilever's partner, Pepsodent, also actively participated in this activity by providing dental care products and educating people on the importance of maintaining regular oral hygiene.
“During the month of Ramadan, maintaining oral health becomes more important due to changes in diet and limited eating time. With a healthy smile, we hope to encourage people to keep their teeth and mouth healthy,” said a representative from Unilever.
This activity received a warm welcome from the people of Medan City. Many enthusiastically came to take advantage of this free dental treatment service. The participants expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by FKG USU, RSGM, and Unilever through Pepsodent.
With the spirit of togetherness and commitment to improve the dental health of the community, the “Healthy Smile of Indonesia Welcomes the Month of Ramadan” activity is expected to be the beginning of a larger movement in raising awareness of the importance of dental health and a beautiful smile for everyone.
