The cooperation marks a strategic step toward strengthening synergy between educational institutions and hospitals in supporting the implementation of education, research, and community service, particularly in the development of dental education and the improvement of human resources in the health sector. During the meeting, the parties discussed various opportunities for collaboration, particularly the use of GrandMed Hospital Lubuk Pakam as one of the clinical education sites for residents of the PPDGS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at FKG USU. The discussion also covered plans for resident rotations and night shifts, resident involvement in healthcare services and emergency case management, supervision mechanisms, and the development of joint academic and clinical activities.
The meeting is expected to serve as an initial step toward strengthening synergy among FKG USU, RSGM USU, and GrandMed Hospital Lubuk Pakam, while opening opportunities for cooperation that support the improvement of residents’ competencies and the quality of healthcare services, particularly in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
FKG USU continues to promote the development of an increasingly strong and high-quality clinical education ecosystem. Collaboration with GrandMed Hospital Lubuk Pakam is expected to support the improvement of educational quality and the development of students’ competencies, particularly students of the Specialist Dental Education Program (PPDGS) administered at RSGM USU.
In addition to education, the cooperation also covers the development of research, scientific publications, innovation, and integrated community service. This synergy is expected to create broader opportunities for collaboration among the academic community while making a meaningful contribution to the advancement of dental science and the improvement of healthcare services for society. Through this strengthened partnership, FKG USU is committed to continuing to build strategic collaborations with various institutions as part of its efforts to realize dental education that is excellent, adaptive, collaborative, and responsive to the needs of society.
