The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), received a special visit from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKG Unsyiah), in an effort to open a Master's Study Program at FKG Unsyiah. This activity is an important starting point for further exploring the governance of the Master's Study Program currently running at FKG USU.
The delegation from FKG Unsyiah was welcomed warmly by the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. Drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA (K), along with the leadership and lecturers of FKG USU. This meeting is considered a positive step in strengthening collaboration between dental faculties in Indonesia and a form of cooperation for developing higher education in dentistry.
Dr. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA (K) enthusiastically delivered her speech: "We are very happy to welcome the group of FKG Unsyiah at FKG USU. This collaboration is a form of synergy between two higher education institutions that are highly committed to improving the quality of education and research in the field of dentistry."
This activity is also a form of benchmarking for FKG Unsyiah to see firsthand the governance of the successful Master's Study Program at FKG USU. During this visit, they had the opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices and discuss the best strategies for managing the Master's Study Program.
The FKG Unsyiah delegation will also participate in activities, including visits to laboratory facilities, clinics, and various academic units at FKG USU. This is expected to provide a comprehensive and in-depth insight into implementing the Master's Study Program at the USU Faculty of Dentistry.
Both faculties agree that this collaboration will benefit both of them and improve the quality of dental education and health services in Indonesia. The spirit of this collaboration is expected to be an example for other higher education institutions to be more actively involved in cross-university collaboration to advance education and research in the country.
