The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), is taking a significant step towards advancing the quality of its education by welcoming assessors from the Independent Accreditation Institution for Higher Health Education (LAM-PTKes) for an accreditation visit. This evaluation, which took place over three days from Monday, September 23, to Wednesday, September 25, 2024, aimed to assess dentistry's academic and professional programs.
This accreditation process is pivotal for maintaining FKG USU’s quality and reputation, both nationally and internationally. During the visit, the assessors evaluated various aspects, including the curriculum, supporting facilities, teaching quality, and research outputs produced by the faculty.
In the opening ceremony, USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the university’s full commitment to this critical accreditation process. His presence highlighted FKG USU's role as a flagship faculty and a source of pride for the institution.

The visit was marked by the presence of three distinguished dental experts serving as assessors:
- Prof. Drg. Diatri Nari Ratih, M.Kes., Sp.KG., Ph.D. from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)
- Dr. Drg. Menik Priaminiarti, Sp.RKG(K) from Universitas Indonesia (UI)
- Dr. Drg. Yanti Rusyanti, M.Kes., Sp.Perio(K) from Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD)
These assessors, renowned for their expertise and extensive experience in accreditation, underscored the significance of this visit for FKG USU’s continuous development.
