The delegation from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), visited the Faculty of Dentistry at Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, on February 27, 2023. The group was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Zamri Bin Radzi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya; Dato' Prof. Dr. Hashim Yaacob, former Rector of UM; Vice Deans, senior advisors, and faculty members from UM.
The long-standing collaboration between FKG USU and FKG UM continues to thrive, focusing on education, research collaboration, community engagement, and joint publication efforts in scientific journals.
During the visit, the historical ties and 35 years of friendship between two prominent figures, Datuk Prof. Ismet Danial Nasution, drg, PhD (USU), and Dato' Prof. Hashim Yaacob (UM), were highlighted. This enduring partnership is hoped to be sustained by current and future leadership at both institutions.
The visit was further enriched with a dinner hosted by Dato' Prof. Zainal Ariff Abdul Rahman, former Dean of UM, at his residence, fostering stronger personal and institutional bonds.
