Over the course of the five-day, in-person program, 11 FKG USU students actively participated in a series of academic and field-based activities. The program began with expert lectures delivered by speakers from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and Prof. Dr. Eng. Yusril Yusuf, S.Si., M.Si., M.Eng. from Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Participants also had the opportunity to explore the academic environment through guided tours of the UGM Faculty of Dentistry and the Academic Dental Hospital (RSGM). The program concluded with educational and cultural excursions to the Yogyakarta Palace (Keraton Yogyakarta) and the Mount Merapi Lava Tour, offering participants valuable insights into Indonesia's cultural heritage and geological landscape.
Participation in the 2026 International Dental Summer Course is expected to broaden students' academic perspectives, enhance their clinical skills, and strengthen the international network of the FKG USU academic community in the field of sustainable dentistry.
The program also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening the quality of dental education, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through community oral health education and promotion, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration and partnerships among higher education institutions.
