Students of the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) once again showed their commitment to broadening their horizons and improving global competence by participating in the Academic Visit and Exchange Program (AVEP) held at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. This activity occurred from December 15 to 19, 2023, and student representatives from various leading universities in Asia attended the event.
This AVEP activity provides a valuable opportunity for USU FKG students to exchange ideas with students from various countries and deepen their knowledge of dentistry. The event was complemented by various workshop sessions, scientific discussions, and research presentations highlighting the latest developments in dentistry.
FKG USU students who participated in this activity had the opportunity to learn best practices from experts at Chulalongkorn University, recognized as one of Asia's best universities in the health sector. This activity is also an important platform for strengthening networks and cooperation between dental education institutions in Asia.
Dean of USU's Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K), expressed her pride for the participation of FKG USU students in this international activity. “Participation in AVEP at Chulalongkorn University is a strategic step in our efforts to improve the quality of education and global competence of FKG USU students,” she said.
This activity is expected to positively impact the academic development of FKG USU students and strengthen FKG USU's position in the international arena.
