Medan, July 2024 – The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), has once again reaffirmed its position as one of the leading faculties within Universitas Sumatera Utara. At the USU Awards 2024—an annual event recognizing the most outstanding university units—FKG USU stood out by securing numerous prestigious awards across several strategic categories.

 

In the Accreditation & Quality Assurance category, two flagship study programs at FKG USU achieved the highest national accreditation status, "Unggul." The awards were presented to:

  • Undergraduate Program in Dentistry
  • Professional Program in Dentistry

This achievement serves as concrete proof of FKG USU’s consistent efforts to uphold and enhance the standards of dental education in Indonesia, as well as its strong commitment to continuous academic quality assurance. FKG USU also excelled in the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) category, which measures the core performance metrics of higher education institutions in Indonesia:

  • IKU 1 – Graduates Securing Decent Jobs (First Place):
    Demonstrating that FKG USU graduates are highly competitive in the job market and are quickly absorbed into professional careers.
  • IKU 4 – Faculty Qualifications (Second Place):
    Reflecting the high quality and qualifications of FKG USU educators, including PhD holders and specialists with national and international experience.

The faculty earned the Best Collaboration Award through its Undergraduate and Professional Dentistry Programs for having the most well-organized, comprehensive, and impactful collaboration reports. These partnerships span education, research, and community service nationally and internationally.

 

On a global scale, FKG USU made significant contributions toward USU’s goal of becoming a World Class University (WCU). Notable achievements in this category include:

  • Highest Number of Employer Peers (First Place):
    This indicates a strong interest and trust from the professional world in FKG USU’s graduates and academic activities.
  • Second Highest Number of Academic Peers:
    Highlighting FKG USU’s vast academic network both domestically and abroad.

The accomplishments of FKG USU at the USU Awards 2024 not only strengthen its reputation within the university but also symbolize its progress in facing the challenges of globalized education. The full support of the academic community, strong leadership, and collaborative spirit form the foundation of this success.
