The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), inaugurated three Periodontia specialist dentists who had just completed their education. The inauguration ceremony was held in the Nazir Alwi Room of FKG USU and attended by several faculty officials, lecturers, families, and colleagues.
The three specialist dentists inaugurated were Irna Carolina Sembiring, drg., and Sp.Perio, Hesty Nurcahyanti, drg., Sp.Perio, and Yulia Karen, drg., Sp.Perio. All three have undergone various stages of intensive education and training in Periodontics, including the treatment of gums and dental supporting tissues, with high dedication and commitment.
During the inauguration, Yulia Karen, drg, Sp.Perio received a special award as the graduate with the highest score among her peers. This achievement is proof of her dedication to exploring the field of Periodontia and her ability to apply the knowledge she learned during her education.
In her speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA (K), expressed her pride in the success of these specialist dentists. She emphasized the important role of Periodontia specialists in improving the oral and dental health of the community, especially in overcoming the increasing periodontal disease.
“This inauguration is not only the end of a long education journey but also the beginning of a great responsibility to provide the best service to the community. We hope that the newly inaugurated specialist dentists can continue to contribute significantly to the world of dentistry, especially in the field of Periodontia,” said Dr. Essie.
The inauguration was also accompanied by inspirational messages from academic advisors who reminded the graduates of the importance of maintaining professional ethics, updating knowledge, and prioritizing patient interests in every medical action.
The inauguration ceremony took place solemnly, ending with a group photo session and congratulations from the invitees. These new specialist dentists are expected to strengthen the ranks of medical experts at FKG USU and positively impact dental health services in North Sumatra and its surroundings.
With this inauguration, FKG USU reaffirmed its commitment to producing dental professionals who are not only technically skilled but also have high integrity and are dedicated to carrying out their noble duties.
