During the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony for specialist dentists, a solemn and emotional atmosphere filled the Nazir Alwi Room, Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU). This sacred event marked an important milestone in the professional journey of 11 specialist dentists who officially earned new titles in their respective fields.

The event was warm and meaningful, attended by the faculty leadership, heads of study programs, department heads, professors, teaching staff, graduates’ families, religious leaders, and invited guests from various FKG USU partners.

 

A total of 11 graduates from various specializations were inaugurated, namely, 6 in Prosthodontics, 1 in Orthodontics, 3 in Periodontics, and 1 in Dental Conservation.

Here is the list of newly inaugurated specialist dentists:

  • drg. Siti Coryniken, Sp.Pros.
  • drg. Nanda Iswa Maysfera, Sp.Pros.
  • drg. Steven Tiopan, Sp.Pros.
  • drg. Andry Sutrisman, Sp.Pros.
  • drg. Triani Umaiyah, Sp.Pros.
  • drg. Dara Aidilla, Sp.Pros.
  • drg. Cut Ati Ningsih, Sp.Perio.
  • drg. Verawati Ashari, Sp.Perio.
  • drg. Eka Putri Any Sihotang, Sp.Perio.
  • drg. R. Octavia Aritonang, Sp.Ort.
  • drg. Muhammad Rizky, Sp.KG.

The event opened with a prayer led by Ustadz Dr. Zamakhsyari, Lc., M.A., Rector of Universitas Dharmawangsa. This spiritual moment added a sacred nuance to the professional oath-taking ceremony.

Next, the reading of the Curriculum Vitae and formal conferment of specialist titles were carried out by each Head of Study Program:

  • drg. Ricca Chairunnisa, Sp.Pros., Subsp. OGST (K)
  • drg. Aini Hariyani Nasution, Sp.Perio., Subsp. RPID (K)
  • drg. Wandania Farahany, M.DSc., Sp.KG., Subsp. KR (K)
  • drg. Aditya Rachmawati, Sp.Ort., Subsp. DDPK (K) (representing the Orthodontics Program)

The highlight of the event was the oath-taking of the specialist dentists, led directly by the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA., Subsp.PKOA(K). In an emotional atmosphere, the graduates swore to serve wholeheartedly, uphold ethics, and provide the best service to the community.

In her remarks, the Dean of FKG USU expressed pride in the graduates’ achievements and hoped the new specialists would become agents of change in national dental health.

“This is not the end, but the beginning of a journey of professional service. We believe that with the competence and integrity they possess, FKG USU’s specialist dentists will be able to make great contributions to society,” said Dr. drg. Essie Octiara.

 

For the graduates and their families, this event was an unforgettable moment, not only as a celebration of graduation but also as a call to fulfill a noble responsibility in the health sector. With renewed spirit and newly earned titles, FKG USU once again produces specialist dentists ready to contribute, serve, and bring pride to their alma mater at national and international levels.
