Medan – The Doctoral Program in Dental Medicine at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), held a Doctoral Promotion Examination on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the IMT-GT Room, 2nd Floor, USU Rectorate Building.
The doctoral candidate, Rini Octavia Nasution, successfully completed the examination and officially earned her doctoral degree, adding a new doctoral graduate to the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This achievement is expected to serve as an inspiration and motivation for the development of more doctoral graduates in the future.

The Doctoral Promotion Examination was opened and chaired by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., as the Chair of the Examination. The examination was attended by the Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Gema Nazri Yanti, M.Kes., and the Head of the Doctoral Program in Dental Medicine, Prof. drg. Sondang Pintauli, Ph.D., FISDPH., FISPDH., who also served as Co-Promoter I.
The examination team was led by Promoter Prof. Saharman Gea, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. Co-Promoter II was Prof. drg. Mei Syafriadi, M.DSc., Ph.D., Sp.PMMf., Subsp. Kista dan Neoplasma, from the University of Jember.
The other members of the examination team included Prof. Dr. Syafruddin Ilyas, M.Biomed., as Examiner I; Prof. Dr. drg. Agus Susanto, M.Kes., Sp.Perio., Subsp. R.P.I.D.(K), from Universitas Padjadjaran, as Examiner II; and Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari, S.Psi., Sp.Perio., Subsp.MP.(K), as Examiner III.

Through this achievement, FKG USU continues to strengthen its contribution to the development of doctoral-level education and research in dental medicine. The successful completion of the doctoral promotion examination by Dr. drg. Rini Octavia Nasution, M.Kes., Sp.Perio., Subsp.RPID(K), is expected to encourage continued academic excellence, research development, and the advancement of dental science.
