Medan, 19 March 2024—The Faculty of Dentistry USU is ready to send some of its students to Prince of Songkla University (PSU) to fulfill the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) 2. This decision was made after an online meeting between the Faculty of Dentistry USU and PSU to discuss technical matters related to the Outbound Program activities.

In a careful and intensive online meeting, both parties agreed to carry out this cooperation program to broaden the horizons and experience of FKG USU students. Dean of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA. Subsp.PKOA(K) stated, "We are very excited about this opportunity. The Outbound Program to PSU will provide valuable experience for our students in terms of academics and developing social and cultural skills."

Through this program, FKG USU students will have the opportunity to participate in a series of academic and non-academic activities at PSU. They will participate in public lectures, practicums, and other activities specifically designed to deepen their knowledge of dentistry.

In addition, this program is expected to strengthen the relationship between the Faculty of Dentistry of USU and PSU in terms of knowledge and experience exchange. "This collaboration not only benefits students but also enriches the academic programs of both institutions," said Dr. drg. Pitu Wulandari S.Psi, Sp.Perio, Subsp.MP (K), Vice Dean III for cooperation.

This Outbound activity will also allow FKG USU students to explore Thai culture and traditions, which will be an unforgettable experience for them. Thus, this program is expected to create more globally-minded students ready to compete internationally.

Meanwhile, PSU also welcomed this collaboration. Prof. Dr. Somsak Sudprasert, Rector of PSU, stated, "We are very pleased to be able to cooperate with FKG USU in this Outbound program. We believe this program will provide great benefits for both institutions as well as the students involved."

FKG USU and PSU are currently preparing everything related to the implementation of this program, including administrative preparations, accommodation, and the activity program that students will undertake. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, both are also committed to implementing strict health protocols to ensure the safety and health of all participants.

The Outbound Program between FKG USU and PSU is expected to be a positive first step in strengthening cooperation between educational institutions at the regional level. With this collaboration, it is hoped that a generation of students who are more qualified and ready to face global challenges will be born in the future.
