The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), held another competency development activity: a Workshop on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Content Creation and Learning Media featuring Ely Hayati Nasution, S.S, M.Si., an expert in communication and digital media.
This workshop aims to improve educators' and students' ability to use AI technology to create interesting and effective educational content. In the session, Ely Hayati Nasution presented various materials, ranging from the basics of AI technology and AI-based content creation techniques to AI applications for interactive learning media.
“Utilizing AI in education can help us create learning materials that are more dynamic, interactive, and relevant to today's learning needs,” said Ely. She also added that AI technology can simplify the content creation process and enrich the learning experience for students.
The participants, the majority of whom were lecturers and students of FKG USU, greeted this activity with enthusiasm. Through this workshop, it is hoped that the participants can apply AI to create course materials, learning modules, and digital publications.
Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA. Subsp.PKOA(K), Dean of the USU ECG Faculty, also expressed her hope that this activity could provide new insights for educators in delivering more creative teaching materials. “We want the Faculty to always adapt to technological developments, including utilizing AI to improve the quality of education,” he said.
This workshop is part of the USU Faculty of Dentistry's efforts to develop technology-based learning methods as a form of commitment to become a faculty of dentistry that excels in educational and research innovation.
