The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) USU has initiated discussions with Malahayati University Lampung to collaborate on establishing a Faculty of Dentistry at Malahayati University. The virtual meeting, led by Dr. Pitu Wulandari, Sp.Perio(K), Vice Dean III of FKG USU, took place on April 13, connecting participants from Medan and Lampung.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Dean of FKG USU, and Vice Dean I Dr. Olivia Avriyanti Hanafiyah, Sp.BM(K), Vice Dean II Drg. Rini Octavia Nasution, M.Kes., Sp.Perio(K), and other members of FKG USU’s academic community. Representing Malahayati University were Dr. Achmad Farich, M.M, Rector of Malahayati University; Muhammad, S.Kom., M.M, Vice Rector I; Dr. Toni Prasetya, Sp.PD., Finasim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Neno Fitriyani Hasbie, M.Kes, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Medicine; and Drg. Torry Duet Irianto, M.Kes, Chair of the Dentistry Study Program Establishment Team.
Malahayati University, a private university located in Lampung, currently operates several faculties and plans to establish a Faculty of Dentistry. As one of the oldest dental faculties in Sumatra, FKG USU is offering guidance and support for this initiative.
Discussions during the meeting culminated in an agreement between the two institutions, marking the start of a collaborative effort to realize the establishment of Malahayati University's Faculty of Dentistry.
