Medan, 16 November 2023 - To ensure the effectiveness of the ADIK (Affirmation of Higher Education) scholarship program, the Education Office of Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua Province, also monitored scholarship recipient students at the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). Today, delegates from the Education Office of Boven Digoel Regency, Christian Bobby D. Jamlean, S.Pd and Fransiskus Sugi Tamnge, S.Pd, paid a direct visit to the USU Faculty of Dentistry.
During the visit, they met with the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA (K) was accompanied by the Vice Dean I of FKG USU, Dr. drg. Olivia Afriyanti Hanafiah, Sp. BMM. Subsp. C.O.M (K). This meeting aims to evaluate and ensure that students receiving ADIK scholarships can access higher education properly and get the necessary support.
One of the students who was the focus of the monitoring was Robertus Nakun, SKG. The monitoring covers aspects such as academic performance, student welfare, and support provided by educational institutions. By focusing on ADIK scholarship recipients, the Education Office of Boven Digoel Regency is trying to ensure that the scholarship funds positively impact and empower the students who receive them.
During the meeting, the Dean of USU's Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Drg. Essie Octiara, conveyed information related to the development and achievements of ADIK scholarship students in her faculty. She also emphasized the commitment of FKG USU to continue to support and facilitate scholarship students' pursuit of academic and non-academic achievements.
Christian Bobby D. Jamlean, S.Pd, a delegate from the Education Office of Boven Digoel District, South Papua Province, appreciated the efforts made by the USU Faculty of Dentistry in supporting the ADIK scholarship program. He stated, “We sincerely hope that through this program, scholarship-recipient students can complete their education well and become assets that contribute positively to their home regions.”
This monitoring is expected to be the first step in building synergy between the education office, universities, and scholarship students to improve the quality of education and provide wider opportunities for the young generation of South Papua to develop their potential.
