On Monday, July 4, 2022, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), represented by its Dean, Dr. Essie Octiara, drg., Sp.KGA, signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Kristen Maranatha, represented by its Dean, Dr. Ignatius Setiawan, drg., MM.
Purpose and Objectives
The collaboration aims to equip, prepare, and enhance the capabilities of students from the Dental Education and Professional Program (PSPPDG) and Master's and Doctoral students in Dental Sciences at USU and Universitas Kristen Maranatha. This partnership also facilitates knowledge exchange between faculty members from both institutions, benefiting students of both faculties.
Scope of Collaboration
The agreement encompasses several key areas:
- Joint implementation of teaching and learning processes at both faculties.
- Execution of Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi (the three pillars of higher education in Indonesia: education, research, and community service).
- Provision of teaching and examining staff with qualifications of at least a doctoral degree (S3), specialist credentials, or senior lecturer (lektor kepala).
Duration of Agreement
The cooperation agreement is valid for five years from the date of signing. This collaboration marks a significant step towards fostering academic excellence and strengthening the educational and research framework of both institutions.
