FKG USU 5/09- The Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received an important visit from a team of assessors from the Institute for Self-Accreditation of Health Universities (LAM-PTKes) in the context of evaluating the accreditation of the Specialist Program (PPDGS) of Dental Conservation. This visit aims to assess the quality of educational programs and facilities available at FKG USU, especially in the context of dental conservation.
Dental conservation is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the care and maintenance of natural teeth, including restoration of damaged teeth and endodontic treatment. FKG USU's Specialist Program in Dental Conservation has long been recognized as one of the best in Indonesia, and this visit by LAM-PTKes assessors is an essential step towards maintaining high-quality standards.
The LAM-PTKes assessor team arrived at RSGM FKG USU in the morning and was welcomed by Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA (K), Dean of FKG USU, and Head of the Specialist Program in Dental Conservation, drg. Wandania Farahanny Sp.KG. Subsp.KR(K), MDSc, and lecturers and academic staff. During this visit, the assessors conducted a comprehensive assessment, including an evaluation of the curriculum, teaching staff competence, laboratory facilities, and student achievements and experiences.
Dr. drg. Essie Octiara, Sp.KGA, Subsp.PKOA(K) stated, “We are very proud to receive the visit of this LAM-PTKes assessor team. Our Specialist Program in Dental Conservation has produced many competent dental conservation specialists who have greatly contributed to dental care in Indonesia. We hope this visit will help us continue improving our program's quality.”
The visit is part of FKG USU's ongoing efforts to ensure that the Specialist Program in Dental Conservation remains relevant, up-to-date, and in line with national and international standards. The results of this evaluation will serve as a guideline for further improvement and development in implementing the Specialist Program in Dental Conservation at FKG USU.
With a solid commitment to providing quality higher education in dental conservation, FKG USU hopes to continue to play an active role in maintaining the dental health of the Indonesian people and encouraging the development of dentistry at the national level.
