The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU), held its Christmas Celebration at the Gereja Batak Karo Protestan (GBKP) Runggun Sei Batang Serangan, Medan, on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

With the theme “Reborn and Survive in His Love,” Dr. drg. Ervina Sofyanti, Sp.Ort(K), who was entrusted with the role of Christmas coordinator this year, conveyed that this Christmas moment aimed to spread the spirit of “Transformation Towards the Ultimate,” a vision initiated by the Rector of USU, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, to continue improving in efforts toward the internationalization of the campus. This year's event, chaired by Harry Christian, was successfully organized thanks to the support from the Faculty of Dentistry, USU, which serves as a second home for the academic community, staff of the Dental and Oral Hospital, alumni of FKG USU, and families of FKG USU students across generations.

The Christmas celebration included a sermon by Pdt. Temmy Myson Tindage S.Th emphasized that through the love of God and the remembrance of His birth, every person is allowed to transform and withstand the increasingly complex global challenges. Kombes Pol. Dr. drg. Nelson Situmorang, Sp.BM(K), MH.Kes, an alumni representative, also shared experiences and encouraged students to cultivate the spirit of serving as "Salt and Light" from their student years into their professional careers. Drg. Editha Elisabeth Siregar, representing POM FKG USU, reminded students to be grateful for the opportunity to be part of the FKG USU academic community and to uphold noble values to benefit their families and alma mater.

The Christmas service was enriched with drama, musical performances, and a choir featuring students from the Faculty of Dentistry at USU. The event concluded with a performance by the Yayasan Benih Kebaikan Bangsa Indonesia Orphanage children and a vocal group from the Parents’ Representatives of FKG USU students. This marked the end of the 2022 Christmas Celebration at FKG USU (@NATALFKG2022).
