The 15th National Scientific Meeting (PIN) of the Indonesian Pediatric Dentistry Association (IKGA) on its 4th day, Saturday, March 12, 2022, commenced at 09:00 via video conference. The event began with Seminar 10, addressing "Performing A Perioperative Procedure Tooth Extraction for Special Needs Children" with speaker dr. Qadri Fauzi Tanjung, Sp. An. KAKV and moderated by Ibnu Ajiedarmo, drg., Sp. KGA.
Next, Seminar 11 discussed "Dental Treatment for Craniofacial Disorder in Children Under General Anesthesia by Pediatric Dentists" with speaker Asst. Prof. Pattarawadee Leelataweewud, moderated by Dr. Mochamad Fahlevi Rizal, drg., Sp.KGA. Seminar 12 focused on "Craniofacial Disorder: Let’s Make Our Spectrum Broader" with speaker Dr. Sanchit Paul, MDS and moderated by Dr. drg. Arlette Suzy Puspa, Sp.KGA.
Seminar 13 covered "Management of Emergencies Associated with Pediatric Dental Sedation" with Prof. Dr. Iwa Sutardjo Rus Sudarso, drg., SU, Sp.KGA(K) and moderated by drg. Dr. Suzana Sungkar, drg., Sp.KGA. The final seminar, Seminar 14, addressed "Pediatric Orofacial Dysfunctions: OSAS and Sleep Bruxism" with speaker dr. Miche de Meyer and moderated by Dr. Sindy Cornelia N, drg., Sp.KGA(K).
The head of the 15th IKGA PIN committee, drg. Ami Angela Harahap, Sp.KGA., MSc, explained that preparations for this event began last year with sourcing speakers according to the event's topics and scheduling. This event aims to enhance pediatric dentists' understanding of seminar topics, thus improving the quality of pediatric dental care in Indonesia.
Today's PIN IKGA also conducted hands-on sessions for participants, including Hands-On 8 on "Easy Analyzing Digital Cephalometric" and Hands-On 7 on "Management of Emergencies Associated with Pediatric Dental Sedation," which served as the closing event for the 15th IKGA PIN Seminar. Moderator of Hands-On 7, Taufiqi Hidayatullah, drg., Sp.KGA noted the high enthusiasm of participants at this year's IKGA PIN. This event is an annual activity routinely organized with alternating organizers.
The implementation of the 15th IKGA PIN is a collaboration between FKG USU and IDGAI (Indonesian Pediatric Dentistry Association) in North Sumatra. Dr. drg. Essie Octiara Sp.KGA, Dean of FKG USU, hopes that collaboration can continue in other fields of dental medicine after the conclusion of this event.
