The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FKG USU) is pleased to announce the opening of admissions for its Specialist Programs (PPDGS) for 2025. This program aims to address the widespread need for specialist dentists in Indonesia and enhance the quality of dental healthcare.

 

FKG USU is the only institution in Sumatra offering this comprehensive PPDGS program that covers various specializations. The program is designed to produce highly competent, professional, and entrepreneurial specialists ready to contribute to the national health system.

Available Specializations (6 Semesters Program):

  • Orthodontics (57 SKS): Focuses on preventing and correcting dental and facial irregularities. (Vision: To be a leading PPDGS Orthodontics program by 2029 in natural resources, technology, and arts, mastering knowledge and skills, especially in myofunctional treatment, with global competitiveness).
  • Prosthodontics (55 SKS): Deals with designing, manufacturing, and fitting artificial replacements for teeth and other oral structures. (Vision: To be a leading PPDGS Prosthodontics education center by 2025 with excellent clinical and laboratory skills and entrepreneurship, competitive globally.)
  • Periodontics (56 SKS): Specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gum disease and the placement of dental implants. (Vision: To be a leading PPDGS Periodontics program by 2027 in natural resource and art-based periodontal tissue regeneration technology with a global perspective).
  • Conservative Dentistry (47 SKS): Focuses on the preservation of teeth and includes restorative and endodontic treatments. (Vision: To produce graduates by 2028 with academic professional excellence in complex tissue regeneration, pulp, periradicular, and restorative technology, capable of utilizing local natural resources and competing globally).
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: Addresses mouth, jaws, and face surgical procedures.

General Requirements for Applicants:

1.  Complete the Registration Form and attach:

  • Curriculum Vitae including educational and work history
  • Academic transcript and GPA (minimum 2.75) that has been legalized
  • Valid Registration Certificate (STR) valid for at least 6 (six) months forward.
  • Legalized S1 and professional degrees.
  • Letter of Examination Results for Foreign Diplomas from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (specifically for overseas graduates).
  • Birth Certificate.
    2.  Age Requirement:
  • Age under or currently 40 years old (at the time of registration)** for Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and Conservative Dentistry programs.
  • Age under or currently 35 years old (at the time of registration)** for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program.
  • Special for Prosthodontics Study Program, applicants aged under 45 years are prioritized if a government agency has sent them
    3.  Police Clearance Certificate (SKCK).
    4.  Application letter on Rp. 10.000,- duty stamp.
    5.  Recommendation letters from 2 (two) supervisors (S1 and Profession).
    6.  Permit letter from the relevant institution for already working applicants.
    7.  Permit letter from spouse/parent for married applicants.
    8.  Proof of registration fee payment.
    9.  Priority consideration will be given to applicants with an ATLS Certificate (specifically for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Study Program).

Registration Fees:

  • 1 Study Program: Rp. 3,800,000,-
  •  2 Study Programs: Rp. 4,500,000,-

  • Registration: May 19 – June 26, 2025
  • Document Verification: Maximum June 30, 2025
  • Announcement of Document Verification Results: July 02 – 04, 2025
  • Academic and Interview Test: July 07 – 25, 2025
  • TOEFL: July 07, 2025
  • Psychotest: July 08, 2025
  • MMPI Personality Test: July 09, 2025
  • Scientific Field Exam (CBT, OSCE, and Interview): July 10 – 25, 2025 (Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry, and Oral Surgery)
  • Announcement: August 01, 2025
  • First Semester Classes Begin: August 18, 2025
